ExeScript: Work Directories

Postby mrnettek » December 29, 2010, 12:53 pm

It would be nice if there were other "Work Directories" that use environmental variables like %temp%, %ALLUSERSPROFILE%, %USERPROFILE%, and %SystemRoot%. The "Windows temp" is good, except under windows 7 an average user no longer has permission to use that folder. "Current directory" is good as well, except in cases where you don't necessarily want everyone seeing your resource files. Please oh please add those options.

There are only 3 options listed below Work Directory: Current directory, Windows temp, and other directory-other as in a static directory path. When I try using directories like %temp%, it creates a directory named %temp% in my current directory.

Just tried the following script:

' ----- ExeScript Options Begin -----
' ScriptType: window,activescript,invoker
' DestDirectory: %temp%
' Icon: default
' OutputFile: c:\test\Untitled1.exe
' CompanyName: Everstrike Software
' FileVersion: 1.0.0.1
' LegalCopyright: Everstrike Software
' ProductVersion: 1.0.0.1
' ----- ExeScript Options End -----

WScript.echo WScript.ScriptFullName

It work fine in ExeScript and ExeScript Pro. The script output was: C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\Untitled1.vbs

I will download the lastest version and give it a try. If it works, I'll be sending in my order to upgrade mine. Thanks!
